Art Agencies

  • Visual Arts Nova Scotia: Works for the advancement of visual arts and artists of Nova Scotia.
  • Federation of Canadian Artists: A not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and professional development of artists and services for art collectors.
  • Canartscene: A non-profit organization and site initially set up in 1995 assisted by the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour to promote visual artists and their activities on the Internet.
  • Canadian Conference of the Arts: A non-partisan, non-profit cultural advocacy organization. We provide a national forum for debate on cultural policy and are the leading national advocate for Canada's artists and cultural institutions and industries.
  • Nova Scotia Designer Crafts Council: Representing close to three hundred individual artisans and craft enthusiasts. through markets, exhibitions and other activities, the NSDCC promotes the work of its members locally, nationally and internationally.
  • The Canada Council for the Arts: Reporting to Parliament through the Minister of Canadian Heritage, the council is a national arm's-length agency which fosters the development of the arts in Canada through grants, services and awards to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations, as well as administering scholarly awards, and having under its aegis the Public Lending Right Commission and the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.
  • Nova Scotia Talent Trust: Provides scholarships to Nova Scotians who demonstrate exceptional potential and commitment to become established artists in their chosen fields.

Art Collections
